Wales V Italy
Let's get one thing clear from the start, I'm a proud Welshman and always want my country to win every game that we play in. However, I'm realistic enough to know that with the present squad and coach there are some teams that we are unlikely to beat.
Right now things are in a state of flux, no one knows how things will pan out over the course of the next few weeks, today could be vital.
The row between the WRU and the regions deepened yesterday, when according to them, money owed by ERC failed to materialise.
The WRU argue that they knew it wouldn't be paid until Feb 5th.
I would be devastated if Wales lost to Italy, but not greatly surprised, the stance of the WRU and the limited central contract scheme that they've devised looks to me to be very divisive with Adam Jones and Priestland amongst those who have been offered contracts when frankly neither are totally deserving of one on current form. Other players who are performing regularly at the highest level are being ignored we have to wonder how they feel. And if that's right how will that affect performances on the pitch, if the Autumn internationals are a pointer, then it's not looking good.
So it's fingers crossed for Saturday because I can't contemplate defeat.
