We've been going round in circles for over month now so the 6Ns and an impending settlement will hopefully gee us all up.

There is a hint that WHATEVER the outcome is, the Ospreys will cease to exist after this season, their published results look bad reading and with on field results not going their way, the future looks extremely uncertain.
With all four regions posting a drop in attendances, financial problems and irregularities and a continuing player drain, it really is crunch time.

If any story is about to break we will be the last to hear !! Brave fight by the Ospreys 14 tonight, not a good outcome for Wales; perhaps they deserve it.

Concensus amongst most regional fans is that the Heineken format does the regions no favours, bottom line is that we're just not good enough.
If the tournament was a knockout (ie;FA Cup) then the regions could do better, but in the harder long term group format regions just don't have enough in depth quality.

Watched the programme, a lot of hot air floating around, and every one working at cross purposes. R L was correct when he stated if the Regions walk away from the present leagues, where are they going to go !! The only solution would involve the English Premiership and Championship teams opting out of the R F U, and that does not seem likely. Gareth Davies for a change seemed quite sensible, but David Moffatt did not impress, although his suggestion that central contracts for 6 players only is not on, was correct.

I think the only solution lies in the hands of the players; they should strike, and refuse to play for their country until the situation is resolved.

Yes lots of hot air and very little for the parties to agree on. They were and are miles apart.
No one commented on the fact that within the confines of the Pro12 the Irish, Scots and the Italians all get more funding (in various ways) from their governing bodies, that has to change.
Moffett, looked silly but was spot on about 6 central contracts, all rugby teams have 23 players these days.
Lewis fudged the issue of talking to other bodies about new regions, he knows that the WRU have spoken to Neath/ RGC1404 and Newport.
The anger amongst the fans was reflected more than once by the boos that Lewis extracted when he spoke.
Watch it on i player if you didn't see it.

So Barry, would you support a walk out by the Welsh team at lunch time on the day of the Wales v Italy game ? I certainly would !!

Right now John I'd support ANYTHING that made the two get round a table and stay there 'til an agreement is reached.

I know that i've said "no more" for me, but in all honesty how can any regional fan budget to buy a season ticket when none of next season's fixtures are known or can be confirmed? The Italians have made some very strong noises about joining the 2nd tier French system ( nice of them after the Celtic league changed all their format to accommodate them), which leaves the Pro12, without a sponsor, and looking decidedly Pro10, no LV= cup, and right now not even a European tournament.

If the players strike then so should the fans.

Truth is john it never really got off the ground.
Looks like the old one has won out despite the quite frequent "Freezes" it seems to experience.
I shall keep posting here from time to time, one day the old one may just peter out altogether.

Would/could Gatland have got away with this if he was the All Blacks coach?

Or does it signal the current WRU thinking?
He is very close to them.

I would be close to the WRU if I was being paid the same as Gatland. He is also thinking of the finished product, guys coming over from France are probably in much better shape than those from the English league; last seasons Wales v England game at the M.S. showed that.
